The Attendant Game

Difficulty Easy 0-25 €

One of the most effective ways to spice up your life is to take an action you do frequently and transform it by adding new meaning. The attendant game proposes precisely this. Suppose you go to a bar or a store; logically, we can all predict some (if not many) of the phrases the waiter or clerk will say. To play the game, you need to agree with your partner on a new meaning for each of these phrases, so that a greater reward is obtained according to the 'improbability' of the phrase. For example:

'How can I help you?' = a big kiss.

'We're out of this or that' = Romantic bath.

With typical phrases, you can create a good list of phrases and rewards. It's fair that half of the rewards are chosen by one and the other half by the other, so both of you have reasons to smile every time you hear one of these phrases.

Finally, if it seems too daring to play the game in a public place, you can adapt it to do it while watching a TV show or a movie that neither of you has seen.
