The Portrait
Much better than giving a photograph, or at least much more intimate and personal, is giving a hand-drawn portrait. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses the talent necessary to create a portrait of a loved one, but a true romantic never stands idle in the face of adversity :) What options do we have?
The first option is the most obvious: almost everyone knows someone who has studied fine arts or who has a good hand for painting. Why not ask this artistic friend to lend us a hand?
The second option is the most expensive: find a professional artist to create a portrait from a photo you bring them. Fortunately, the price of a portrait isn't high. In many cities, there are artists who work on the street, sketching passersby for a modest price...
The third and final option is the DIY approach: with the help of a program like Photoshop, you'll need to apply a filter to the photo so that its most important lines are drawn. The result will look as if the photo was drawn with a pencil. Print this 'portrait' and use tracing paper to trace the lines. This way, you'll get the desired hand-drawn portrait :).
