Understanding? Absolutely!! This surprise is recommended for couples who have just had an argument or those who know a little disagreement might be coming... In short, surprising involves doing the unexpected, and being understanding when the other person might expect a little scolding is a great way to do it.
An example of how to surprise by understanding was when my boyfriend forgot to call me at the time we agreed. When we finally talked, I told him that everyone makes mistakes sometimes, that this time it was no big deal, and not to worry. He didn't know what to say, he was very surprised, and he never made the same mistake again (besides, I came off well because he said I was the only one who understood him XD).
